Following on the massive success of the third edition of our Explore China travel guide, we’ve decided to turn our attention to a new project…

We’ve heard, we’ve listened and we’re responding: You want a food guide by local experts, a guide that looks beyond Cantonese food to examine the amazing range of world cuisines available in the Greater Bay Area – and now we’re delivering with our first-ever foodie guide book: The Golden Forks: A Greater Bay Area Dining Guide 2019.

Our comprehensive dining and drinking guide is set to inform expats, visitors and locals alike on the myriad of food and beverage options available in the Greater Bay Area. From Turkish and Indian food to Italian, French, Mexican and American-style cuisine, we’ll have you covered in our 150-page perfectly-bound book.

Set to coincide with our 14th annual Food and Drink Awards, The Golden Forks: A Greater Bay Area Dining Guide 2019 will organize restaurants based on our new ‘Golden Fork’ rating system, which assesses F&B establishments based on their service, ambiance, interior design, originality, food quality, food presentation, cleanliness, sustainability, drink options and drink quality.

Restaurants and bars will be awarded between one and five Golden Forks based on their performance, as decided by our undercover team of foodies. Additionally, the winners of our Readers’ Choice Awards in our Food and Drink Awards 2019 will be assessed and assigned a Golden Fork rating. As such, you have a direct say in which establishments will be profiled in this guide – so please be sure to visit our voting sites! Five Forks

World-class dining experience: A luxurious setting complete with extraordinary food and/or alcoholic beverages options.

Four Forks

Renowned fine-dining experience: A classy setting with top-quality food and/or alcoholic beverage options. 

Three Forks

City favorite: A comfortable and casual environment with great food and a range of beverage options. 

Two Forks

Great food, great price: A casual environment with tasty food options and alcoholic beverages available – all at a reasonable price point.

One Fork

Drinker’s paradise: Casual environment with a menu focused mainly on alcoholic beverages, with snacks available.
